Kirby Week 2015 – Interview with Rand Hoppe, Kirby Museum

kirby4heroes_header

Back at the end of the July, the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! ran a weeklong collection of interviews that John conducted while at the 2015 San Diego Comic Con. Now, if you were paying close attention, you will recall that we teased that there was a 17th interview that we were saving for later. Well, today’s your lucky day!

While on the con floor at San Diego, John met Rand Hoppe, director of the Kirby Museum. Founded in 2005, the Jack Kirby Museum and Research Center promotes the study, understanding, preservation, and appreciation of the work of legendary comic book creator. While the museum does not have a traditional physical location, Hoppe and others represent the museum at many conventions around the world. In addition, the museum thrives in our Internet-focused world. The Jack Kirby Original Art Data Archive features high-quality scans of over 3,000 pages of artwork from the artist’s career, and are available 24/7 online for viewing purposes.
